Chemical Peels/ Gel Peels
1. Treatment :
- This treatment involves the application of a medicated solution to the skin.
- This solution helps by exfoliating the area and the layer of skin peels off followed by the formation of new healthy skin.
- This is done to rejuvenate the skin and get rid of wrinkles, making the skin tighter and smoother. This is also effective in getting rid of damaged, aged or pigmented skin and acne.
2. The Number of Sessions :
- Depending on the condition of the skin and the type of peels required/ decided upon, it should be spaced with 2-4 weeks between each treatment.
3. Pre-treatment :
- Patient must refrain from application of any kind to the skin 2 days before treatment including make-up.
- Use of sunscreen must be regular.
4. Post-treatment :
- Redness of the skin, dryness and slight irritation or peeling of the skin is a normal after-effect and should not cause alarm.
- Moisturizers and sunscreen lotions should be applied regularly after the procedure.
- Direct contact with sunlight should be avoided initially.
